Taking film trains with a digital camera
What better joy for a photographer from the railway a late fall day in November? The angle of the sun? low enough for the Scene very dramatic scenes in high iron. It was just the other day I had a very special package at the door – my digital camera.
All that day and the next day I was glued to the manual and craft that? comes with accessories. By the middle? of the day, I was mortal. The family cat has a long and meeeeeow refuse? leaving the clandestinit?. My wife covered her face and said, “Put that thing away!”
I went back to reading the manuals. The next day was of me, recordings of CSX trains in Gaithersburg, MD Well, I’ve learned that not only my new digital camera to take pictures. You can also take pictures in a mode? film. At that time, a whole new world opened. I could shoot all kinds of videos. I could keep in an album. I could burn CDs or DVDs. I was able to capture the sound. In short, I’ve got everything you need for filming and photographs of the railway, all in the palm of my hand.
I knew enough to take? a tripod so you do not train my irregular jerky scene. On my shooting position, I’m waiting in the distance I heard a train horn, and the sound of things, this guy? was carried out with full force. It was a double-stack container westbound BNSF orange with three engines on the head. A lot of power “foreign” is running on CSX and I was lucky on this one. The stand is? proved invaluable because I was able to rotate about a Scene of ne “go away” to catch.
But what was it? Here comes another train, to the east. This was a train of fixed carbon, three CSX-6000-AC motors really try to make the grade. The engineer worked with me on the scene, handing out with a shot along the tornado, and his bell as he passed.
This? was enough for the camera memory card, and I had only one of them with me. In one minute, I had photographed two CSX trains, trumpets, bells, and the black smoke from the fire. Not bad for an old fart like me, whose guidance he began his career in photography since 1950. It does not? stopped.
Let’s see more? close to the train film photography using a digital camera.
Cameras are not designed for video work flashy, but you can make a good movie if you work around their limitations. Professional filmmakers into small segments and edit the pieces together later. You? do the same stretches of 30 or 240 seconds of footage Keep in mind that a digital camera? a luxury many of us can not? afford. For those of us who just want to download videos from time to time, a digital camera, or even a cellphone could? sufficient.
Of course, when it comes to making movies, the most? great lack of a digital camera? who does not? a video camera. However, with some guidelines and some knowledge of the limitations of the camera? You can create your own short video of the railway in no time.
Most current digital cameras can record movies, but check your manual. The technical limitations of the camera? making the movie boring and frustrating. Typically,? needed for resolution, frame rate and length to sacrifice to achieve an outcome that works for your goals – and you insert the memory card from your digital camera!
The resolution? The name of the game when it comes to photography station. Use a resolution of 640×480 pixels, if you want the resulting movie on a TV monitor. 320×240 pixels? good enough if you want to e-mail or upload to a web server. 160×120 pixels produces small, low quality film?. If you seriously good video track, not even considering this option. Most cameras have 160×120 and 320×240, 640×480, but? less common. Remember that when choosing a digital camera, the resolution? a function of the price.
Also keep in mind that 60 seconds of 30 frames per second of 640×480 video? approximately 20MB of space and includes 1,800 individual images. Judge your video accordingly!
If the framerate is not? high enough, your film suffer from stuttering, stuttering and pixilation. In general, the higher? resolution, child? frame rate. Uses 24 frames per second (fps) if you want your traffic to appear smooth. 15fps? considered the minimum acceptable level. Not all cameras you can choose your frame rate. Some digital cameras can film at 30 fps 640×480 pixels.
The camera? limit how long? Create a video clip. 30-240 seconds? the normal range. If your camera does not have a border? can shoot video until your memory card? vol. High resolution movies uses much more? storage of low-resolution movies. A high-capacity memory card? – 512 MB or more? -? a good investment if you plan to do much of the film shoot.
Digital cameras store video in one of three formats:. AVI,. O MOV. MPEG. There? ? determined by the video encoder in the camera. This can not? be changed. The camera comes with software to modify the format used.
Cameras are not designed for video work flashy, but you can make a good movie if you work around these limitations. Photo train requires no skill? in the selection of glitter. Professional filmmakers into small segments and edit the pieces together later. You? same with 30 or 240 lines, according to the film on track. The last thing I want? make your own video track boring.
It’s up to you to add interest to the final edited video. If possible, the review of the film and change the playback feature of the camera. ? Then you can reshoot if necessary, before transferring images to your computer. However, a train, get away? a train never return?.
It is important to keep the car stable during filming – pi? low? resolution, pi? no obvious instability? sar?, resulting in quality films? bad. A, table tripod or beanbag can? help the camera steady and improving quality? the final result. The stand should be a frying pan and capacity? angle. Not? can track a moving train without.
Composition to give? interest in your video work. You should try to approach the subject during photographing. However, for your safety, you must remain outside the period of fifteen meters for each track. For compositions more? beautiful, place your subject off center in your network focus. Also remember that some cameras and lighting to set the focus of the first time you press the record button. If you move the camera, the subject does not? focus. Some cameras can not allow zoom during video recording.
At this point, you have good enough advice to fill a convoy. The test of your skills in this exciting new technique? what you see on your computer monitor or TV screen. Here’s to your success! P>
