best mini DV camera with FireWire port?

I am looking for suggestions / experience / etc what would be the best (quality) camera in the sub $ 400 range. A mini-DV, and you must have a FireWire port, because I have a mac. I bought the samsung d372 cheap and realized that I really want something of quality. The image is so grainy. . . registration of driving, you can not even distinguish it from the road. I use it for a road trip and I really think everything is clear. I do not expect HD quality, I just feel that details such as road signs must be readable. smaller is better, as regards the size of the camcorder. Light is a plus, but if not, no big deal. Also I do not care if you have a photo / still an option. Feel free to comment or send an email to theroomstoocold @ yahoo. com. Any help is greatly appreciated, because no one in any store has no idea what they parlando.grazie for the answer, but I need for next week. not intend to wait and do not intend to exceed $ 400.non DV Cam to spend all. I was looking for a Sony have not said that the specifications at Circuit City.

DV Camcorder and Windows Vista. How do I get it to work with a Firewire connection?

I recently purchased a new dell system with Windows Vista, I have several camcorders to include a Panasonic PV-GS65. When I plug in the camera using the firewire connection nothing happens, Dell suggested it was the motherboard and replaced it. This has not helped the computer still does not recognize anything is plugged in. I don’t even get the regular beep you get when you plug something in, everything works on my old XP. I have downloaded everything I could find and have contacted Dell and Panasonic, both of which say it should work but don’t know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Digital Camcorders – Firewire vs USB

live.besttechie.net – Ralf asks when buying a digital camera is firewire or USB better? Typically, I recommend you buy a DV cam with firewire capabilities as today’s cameras can store so much video, when transferring it using firewire would be much faster.

are all firewire cables the same?

I have a camcorder that needs a firewire cord but when i went to go buy one it didn’t look like it would fit. It said firewire on the box. the guy at the store said i would have to contact panasonic
for the cord. if that was the cord it would be great so if all camcorders need a firewire would all of the firewire cords be the same. plus it says “dv i” right next to the plug in. i dont know if that matters
