I ordered the wrong cable 4 pin to 4-pin I think it only works if you have a Sony computer. Most other computer as my Dell probally need 6 pin to 4-pin.

As a Mac user, I can only say that this cable is essential for anyone wishing to use the synchronization capabilities of iMovie with a Sony Handycam. The USB connector comes packaged with my HC40 was completely useless when you try to connect to iMovie.
This is the main reason why I can not give a rating higher than three stars. It is very frustrating to see that after investing in a decent camera for personal use, is that Sony expects to hold more of their stuff to buy it even connected to your computer. If I buy retail Sony ridiculous, “frustrating” would have been too mild a descriptor, but Amazon has helped soften the insult discount.
Other than that, I can not whole heckuva lot to say – is a cable after all. Ha!

It is a cable must have if you are planning videos to your computer. Sony does not provide the cable with your HD camcorder. If your video and / or DVDs, you will find this cable.

It is a cable, it works, what more could you want? I know there are not the cheapest, but it says “Sony” on it. Yes! But, I am a true believer that you only get what you pay for. Im sure of better quality than the version for five U.S. dollars a flea market. Who knows, but I’m sure all warm and fuzzy about getting the quality of Sony products.

Works as described. I’m just so angry that Sony has to call me their camera to buy at a competitive price, without including the cable, making the total cost of the camera is no longer competitive. E ‘smart of Sony to do business this way, but only to make a profit in the short term. You can bet that will not be suckered all Sony products in the future to buy now knowing that this is the way they manage their activities.
