Recommendations about products to capture my Directv DVR and VHS to my computer. ?

Thanks for reading. When I pointed out the USB cable, I meant between the video-recording device and the computer, not the DVR.
These USB ports for the DVR functionality in the future. . It would be available to do things like upload to the computer programming and DVDs. . When I was workign on Directv it was not available. . and I have a friend who works there and he hadnt said anything to me. . I do not think they have any legal issues and the software ready or maybe wait for a special date. . But hey! Wouldnt hurt to call.
