Indifferent HDV?

What does it matter if my video was recorded by a HDV or mini-DV as my laptop does not have an HDMI port. My latop has a FireWire and USB. I try to better chroma and I should be able to obtain high quality uncompressed video editing on my laptop. So does it matter?

There is an HDV camcorder for less than $ 600?

I’m looking for a compatible HD camcorder with mini DV tapes, Sony and preferably with a wireless remote. Like the old Handycam, but can record in HD. All new models appear on a hard disk to use, and are concerned about the quality of video compression and compatibility with iMovie. If a camera, the compression does not make much difference? It still works well with iMovie?

What is the best camera in terms of performance and quality HDV on mini DV tape or AVCHD SDcard?

I’m upgrading because they are dissatisfied with the performance of my Sony DVD camcorder. Sometimes the captured image is always sharp.
