Mini-DV cassettes, High Definition (HD) vs normal?

I have a standard Sony mini-DV camcorder and tried to buy new tires. I found some that High Definition Mini DV 63 minutes (or DVC) and I was wondering when they work in a mini-DV camcorder, or only in high-definition cameras?

Editing as much as simplicity allows. Picture quality, good for 60″ screen. HD not essential?
